Biography
After a long career in television journalism and documentary filming, Akçura started to teach and share his experiences on television journalism and video production at the Faculty of Communication, Ankara University in 2003. In 2007, he joined the Department of Communication and Design at Bilkent University. He is currently working at the same department as a Basic Photography, Video Production, and Television Journalism instructor. He has been a jury member at Ankara Film festival and Association of Professional News Cameramen. He is the owner of Turkish Association of News Cameramen “Lifetime Achievement Award” for his contributions to the profession. He aims to convey his experiences as a cameraman who has worked under all kinds of circumstances from his practices in war-reporting to documentary and current affair programs on television so as to provide an insight for students into the real-life application of the profession.
